We’ve heard countless times, “It takes a village to raise a child.” That statement rings true today as we celebrate not only Ray, but also all of you… All of you that have helped him become who he is and who he is going to be.
Thank you for all you have done. Thank you for loving him; for encouraging him; thank you for teaching him - teaching him how to read, how to shoot hoops, how to bait a hook, how to run faster, how to fly higher, how to be kind, how to appreciate numbers, how to muscle through and do scary things, how to find joy in simple things as well as extraordinary things, how to make mistakes, how to give and how to forgive, how to be vulnerable. Thank you for making him feel at home in your home, in your school, in your church, in your place of business, and in your community of people.
